In this episode of the Aviation Business Podcast, we dive deeper into Emotional Intelligence by exploring the Stress Management composite realm of the EQi 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Model. Learn more about how the sub-scales of Flexibility, Stress Tolerance, and Optimism all combine to reflect the overall health of your Interpersonal abilities.
The Stress Management composite consists of the following sub-scales:
1. Flexibility – is adapting emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to unfamiliar, unpredictable, and dynamic circumstances or ideas.
2. Stress Tolerance – involves coping with stressful or difficult situations and believing that one can manage or influence situations in a positive manner
3. Optimism – is an indicator of one’s positive attitude and outlook on life. It involves remaining hopeful and resilient, despite occasional setbacks.
These three sub-scales combined to determine your composite score or overall health in the Stress Management realm of emotional intelligence.

Tim Bonnell Jr. is the Founder and President of Aeris Insurance Solutions. He is the author of the book Aircraft Insurance Fundamentals: A Concise Guide For Aircraft Owners and Operators.
