Episode 34: Emotional Intelligence Part III – Self-Expression

In this episode of the Aviation Business Podcast, we dive deeper into Emotional Intelligence by exploring the Self-Expression composite realm of the EQi 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Model. Learn more about how Emotional Expression, Assertiveness, and Independence all combine to the overall health of your Self-Expression.

The Self-Expression composite consists of the following sub-scales:

1. Emotional Expression – is openly expressing one’s feelings verbally and non-verbally.

2. Assertiveness – involves communicating feelings, beliefs, and thoughts openly, and defending personal rights and values in a socially acceptable, non-offensive, and non-destructive manner.

3. Independence – is the ability to be self-directed and free from emotional dependency on others. Decision-making, planning, and daily tasks are completed autonomously.

These three subscales combined to determine your composite score or overall health in the Self-Expression realm of emotional intelligence. How well we are able to outwardly express ourselves.
